Toronto, September 21st, 2001 –
The World Organization for Relief Logistics Development (WORLD) today published the following list of known items required to assist in relief agency operations in the wake of the terrorist tragedy in the United States.
- Lift gate trucks that can deliver into Manhattan
- Warehousing - both in the area and nationwide
- General transportation services into Manhattan
- Industrial refrigerators, ice machines or deliveries of ice
- Work clothes - boots, safety goggles, gloves, protective clothing, rain gear etc.
- Protective Masks ( Asbestos Grade/ Purple Cartridge )
- Communication specialists - the Red Cross needs e-mail capabilities
- Cell phones - approximately 100

As well, WORLD still requires volunteer Logisticians to assist with our efforts both here around the world which are expected to climb dramatically due to the coming events in Afghanistan and the surrounding region.
