WORLD Needs Logistics Volunteers

Group of Logisticians Taking on Wider Social Role

Toronto, September 14^th, 2001 – The World Organization for Relief Logistics Development today announced stepped up efforts to recruit volunteers to assist them in supporting and improving the Logistics operations of relief agencies.

In the wake of the recent tragic events in the United States, we expect there will be significant logistics support needs as the tragedy and its' aftermath continue to unfold. Individuals who volunteer with WORLD can come from all levels and aspects of logistics and logistics related firms and their volunteer support can start from making phone calls to facilitate locating required equipment, relief materials or transportation services; to getting directly involved in relief situations on an ongoing basis.

Regardless of your level in the profession, from student, to entry level and on to senior professionals, there is a potential role in assisting WORLD meet our goals in supporting relief agencies from a logistics perspective. Whether you have only an hour of your time to give or are available for more significant participation, we'd love to hear from you.
