Toronto, October 31st, 2002 –
The World Organization for Relief Logistics Development (WORLD - Logisticians Without Borders) today announced their plan to develop a pro-active Supply Chain Disaster Preparedness program. This is a positive effort to reduce relief requirements and supply chain disruption impact in the event of disasters either natural or manmade. Specifically, a series of country specific Supply Chain Disaster Preparedness programs are being developed for roll-out in early 2003. These are expected to include both on and offline self-preparation materials, live conference and educational programs as well as the development of an online Knowledge Base for Supply Chain Disaster Preparedness.
